About SAM The San Andreas Merchants'Association (SAM) was formed in 1994 to support it's members and help mobilize resources for the benefit of the community. SAM Member Code of Conduct To join SAM as a regular member a business must be conducting business in the San Andreas area, have a valid County Business License, and must agree to conduct business in an honest and fair manner. Special Promotions Several times a year, SAM holds fun, business-enhancing contests that encourage visitors to SAM members. SAM retail members report that these promotions boost foot traffic and give their businesses a chance to offer premium prizes they otherwise could not afford. SAM BUX Shoppers use SAM BUX just like cash at all members of the San Andreas Merchants Association. In addition to being valuable prizes in the promotions, groups and individuals may purchase SAM BUX to give as gifts, employee incentives and / or recognition, or just as as a way to say thank you to friends and valued customers. Merchants exchange their SAM BUX with SAM for cash. Join SAM If you are in business in San Andreas, you can join the San Andreas Merchants' Association. For more information on joining the San Andreas Merchants' Association please call (209) 754-0127, or mail to P.O. Box 811, San Andreas, 95249. |

Community Projects Community Grant In 2007 SAM received a San Andreas Rural Livable Mobility Grant through the Calaveras Council of Governments. This is a long-term project for the San Andreas Community geared to making San Andreas a more attractive place to live and work. Underground Wiring Project In 1998 SAM undertook to dramatically improve the appearance of San Andreas by successfully seeking Title 20 funds to replace the maze of overhead wires over St. Charles Street (Hwy 49). With the wires gone, other projects designed to enhance the appearance of San Andreas will be possible. Phase 2 is currently in process. Refuse & Recycling Bins In 2001, through a grant from the Calaveras County Solid Waste Division, SAM received and placed ten new refuse / recycling bins throughout the downtown area. Maintained by local merchants, the bins not only help keep our community looking cleaner, they also encourage re-cycling and reduce stress on landfills. Christmas Decorations & Tree Lighting Since 1994 SAM has contributed time and resources to decorate downtown San Andreas for the holidays. Working with other local groups, SAM helps purchase and erect holiday decorations. Lights on Main Street SAM purchased and installed the white lights outlining the buildings on Historic Main Street. Highway Banners SAM designed and purchased the banners along Highway 49/St. Charles Street. Additional banners will highlight future San Andreas events. |
